Determinantes da adoção de práticas de responsabilidade social : contexto da defesa portuguesa

O objetivo deste estudo é compreender o que influencia os membros das Forças
Armadas Portuguesas a praticar comportamentos de responsabilidade social nas suas
funções profissionais. Para tal, foi desenvolvido um modelo concetual exploratório com
base na Teoria do Comportamento Planeado, inquéritos por questionário para recolha de
dados e modelação de equações estruturais para estudar as relações entre perceções,
pressões e intenções.
A Teoria do Comportamento Planeado, no modelo concetual construído, explica
aproximadamente metade da variância nas intenções comportamentais. A atitude dos
militares apresenta o maior impacto nas intenções, seguida da perceção de controlo
comportamental. A pressão direta dos stakeholders não demonstra ter influência nas
intenções dos militares para a adoção de comportamentos socialmente responsáveis. Este
estudo alarga para as Forças Armadas análises primordialmente realizadas no setor
privado. Para além disto, reforça o conhecimento sobre as perceções e pressões sentidas
pelos indivíduos nas suas funções em temas de responsabilidade social.
The aim of this study is to understand what influences members of the Portuguese Armed Forces to practice social responsibility behaviours in their professional roles. To this end, an exploratory conceptual model based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour was developed, questionnaire surveys for data collection and structural equation modelling to study the relationships between perceptions, pressions and intentions. The Theory of Planned Behaviour, in the projected conceptual model, explains approximately half of the variance in behavioural intentions. The attitude of the military shows the highest impact in intentions, followed by the perception of behavioural control. Direct pressure from stakeholders is not shown to influence military personnel's intentions to adopt socially responsible behaviours. This study extends to the Armed Forces analyses primarily conducted in the private sector. Furthermore, it reinforces the knowledge about the perceptions and pressures felt by individuals in their functions on issues of social responsibility.
