Vivendo num mercado tendencialmente global, a actividade empresarial deixou
de conhecer fronteiras, sendo colocada perante desafios concorrenciais cada
vez mais complexos. As empresas modernas percebem este fenómeno e
reagem, recorrendo, de uma forma sistemática, a uma gestão racional dos
determinantes da competitividade, integrando a inovação como um factor
diferenciador.
Recorrendo a um sector que tem experiência efectiva da problemática da
Internacionalização, na presente dissertação, faz-se uma incursão pela Indústria
Portuguesa de Moldes, analisando as questões que a caracterizam e
apresentando alguns casos concretos de empresas que escolheram trajectórias
distintas destacando-se pelo sucesso obtido.
O objectivo central do presente trabalho prende-se com a clarificação do
processo pelo qual estas empresas interiorizaram a Inovação e abordaram a
Tecnologia, no quadro da sua Gestão, emprestando-lhes dimensão estratégica
para a sustentação da sua competitividade no quadro de uma ou várias
trajectórias possíveis.
Na análise das Estratégias destas empresas, recorre-se a algumas ferramentas
ou modelos disponíveis na Gestão, sendo abordados os vectores-chave das
actuações concretas, através de estudo-de-casos.
Com os resultados obtidos, promove-se uma reflexão acerca das vias de
incrementar a competitividade das empresas do sector em geral, retirando-se
conclusões que identificam os factores críticos de sucesso do sector.
Within the market globalisation phenomena, the enterprises left their own frontiers to act in a very complex context. Modern enterprises understand that situation and react, in a systematic way, by a rational management of the competitivity determinants, integrating innovation as a differentiation factor. Using an industry which has an effective experience on internationalisation, in the present work, we run into the Portuguese Industry of Moulds, studding the aspects that embody it and showing some real situations in which different strategic ways were choosen with success. The work main goal is linked with a clarification of the process how these organisations embodied Innovation and struggled with Technology in the scope of their management, giving them strategic wideness to sustain their competitivity in one or several possible ways. In the analysis of the strategies of these enterprises, we used some models available in management science, giving special attention to the main-vectors of concrete strategies through case-studies analysis. With the results, we promote a reflection about the way how to increase this industry organisations competitivity and point out some conclusions that can identify the industry criticai success factors.
