Starting from the history of the first salt producing region in Brazil, the artist Bia Martins encourage us to go through landscapes that reflect different modes of production, processing in her works the transition of the salt into a symbolic good. Moving from one place after another, in accordance with the market of globalized economy, labeled bags of refined salt and pottery vessels full filled with raw salt, organized and released in discourses through art institutions, ironically deals with surplus value in different economy spheres
