A presente tese realiza-se no Ć¢mbito do Programa de Doutorado em CiĆŖncias da Educação da Universidade de Lisboa, Ć”rea de especialização em Administração e PolĆticas Educacionais, e tem por objetivo compreender o papel do Ensino Superior na cidade de AraguaĆna -TO, a partir da percepção dos estudantes e professores de trĆŖs InstituiƧƵes de Ensino Superior presenciais na cidade, uma vez que estĆ” mais que reconhecido o papel da educação, nomeadamente o de nĆvel superior, no desenvolvimento sócioeconómico regional e local. Para tal, fizemos um percurso das tendĆŖncias da educação superior na atualidade e sua relação com desenvolvimento regional e local a partir da formação de capital humano. TraƧamos uma historiografia da expansĆ£o do ensino superior na cidade de AraguaĆna, e o seu papel no crescimento urbano. Discutimos as implicaƧƵes dessa expansĆ£o na economia local e as possibilidades de um redefinição do espaƧo urbano e de uma reconfiguração regional a partir dos serviƧos educacionais. De seguida, aplicĆ”mos um questionĆ”rio a uma amostra representativa de alunos e de professores das trĆŖs instituiƧƵes de ensino superior presenciais em AraguaĆna, a fim de perceber as representaƧƵes que estes atores possuem acerca da importĆ¢ncia do ensino superior no desenvolvimento da cidade. A partir da anĆ”lise das respostas dadas aos questionĆ”rios aplicados aos dois segmentos inquiridos, foi possĆvel caracterizar em termos socioeconómicos estes dois conjuntos de inquiridos e compreender a forma como eles percepcionam a relação do ensino superior com o local. O estudo aponta significativas alteraƧƵes na dinĆ¢mica econĆ“mica da cidade, em especial, na prestação de serviƧos paralelamente ao desenvolvimento do ensino superior, as quais vĆŖm reforƧando o papel da cidade como Localidade Central, no contexto regional.
The present theory is presented in the context of the Program of Doctorate in Sciences of the Education of the University of Lisbon, area of specialization in Administration and Education Politics, and has since objective understands the role of the Superior Teaching in the city of AraguaĆna - TO. From the perception of the students and teachers from three actual Institutions of Superior Teaching in the city, as it has been more than recognized the role of education, specifically of the superior level in the socio economic development regional and local. For that, we went on a journey of tendencies of the superior education in the present and it's relation with regional and local development from the formation of human capital. We draw a historiography of the expansion of the superior teaching in the city of AraguaĆna, and it's role in the urbane growth. We discuss the implications of this expansion in the local economy and the possibilities of a redefinition of the urbane space and a regional reconfiguration from the education services. Then, we applied a questionnaire to a representative sample of students and teachers from three actual institutions of superior teaching in AraguaĆna, in order to realize the representations what these actors have about the importance of the superior teaching in the development of the city. From the analysis of the answers given to the questionnaires applied to the two cross-examined segments, it was possible to characterize in socio-economic terms these two joint of cross-examined, and to understand the form as they perceive the relation of the superior teaching with the place. The study points to significant alterations in the economical dynamic of the city, in special, in the services rendered in parallel to the development of the superior teaching, which are reaffirming the role of the city like Central Town, in the regional context.
