This paper presents the results of artistic experiences in art classes held in a public school in Salvador/BA -- Brazil, based on the reinterpretation of "The Vitruvian Man" by Leonardo da Vinci and his possibility to influence the recognition and appreciation of cultural aspects students in the eighth year. Students painted human figures recreated from their body contouring with physical characteristics and human themselves or people connected to the neighborhood where they lived
