Este relatório de estágio documenta o estágio curricular desenvolvido no
Agrupamento de Escolas (AE) Pintor Almada Negreiros, no âmbito do Mestrado em
Ciências da Educação, na área de especialização em Administração Educacional.
O relatório contém três grandes componentes de descrição e análise: a)
caracterização da organização em que se desenvolveu o estágio e do trabalho do seu gestor;
b) descrição e discussão das actividades desenvolvidas pela estagiária, à luz dos
conhecimentos e competências adquiridos ao longo do seu percurso académico e dos
referenciais da Administração Educacional; c) estudo de pequena escala sobre os processos
de tomada de decisão e as estratégias aí adoptadas, pela Directora do AE.
A organização na qual se concretizou o estágio é caracterizada por uma comunidade
educativa proveniente de meios socioeconomicamente desfavorecidos e com elevadas
taxas de absentismo e abandono escolares. A população escolar do AE define-se como uma
população com diferentes hábitos socioculturais, derivados da proveniência de diferentes
nacionalidades, destacando-se a sua diversidade linguística, cultural e étnica
As principais actividades descritas e analisadas neste relatório envolvem o
desempenho de papéis variados por parte da estagiária na Direcção do AE, nomeadamente:
selecção de candidatos às vagas de Mediador Escolar e de Psicólogo Escolar, elaboração
de Despachos para procedimentos disciplinares, mediação de conflitos, relações com
entidades externas e verificação dos relatórios de avaliação do desempenho docente.
A investigação aqui documentada pretende dar a conhecer a importância do trabalho
do gestor de um AE situado num meio socioeconómico vulnerável, que se distingue pela
urgência dos processos de tomada de decisão em prol do sucesso educativo da comunidade
escolar e da sua integração na sociedade. Assim, o estudo aborda o trabalho do gestor
escolar num território educativo de intervenção prioritária, nomeadamente a construção
dos seus processos de tomada de decisão, tendo em conta a singularidade cultural da
organização. Mais concretamente, o estudo apresenta as representações e estratégias de acção existentes nos processos decisionais, como contributos para o funcionamento
desejado da instituição escolar.
This report reflects my training period in School Cluster “Pintor Almada Negreiros”, in the context of the Master in Education Sciences – Educational Administration specialization field. The report contains three major descriptive and analytical components: a) organizational characterization of the school cluster and the work of its principal; b) description and discussion of the activities developed during the training, and reflection on these considering of knowledge and skills acquired throughout my previous academic experiences; c) small scale study on the decision-making processes and the strategies adopted by principal of the School Cluster. The school cluster here described serves an educational community comprising socioeconomically disadvantaged students with high rates of absenteeism and early school leaving. The school population may be defined as a population with different socio-cultural habits, derived from the provenance of different nationalities, and with high linguistic, cultural and ethnic diversity. The main activities I describe and analyze in this report involve the performance of varied managerial functions and at the Directorate of SC, including: selection of candidates for vacancies; preparation of dispatches to disciplinary procedures; conflict mediation; relationships with external entities; and verification of reports of teacher assessments. The small-scale research shows the importance of the work of the School Cluster principal in such a vulnerable socio-economic environment. Her work is distinguished by the urgency of the decision-making processes in favor of the educational success and social integration of the school community. Thus, the study discusses the enactment of leadership and management roles in an educational priority area of intervention, particularly the construction of decision-making processes, taking into account the cultural uniqueness of the organization. More specifically, the study describes and analyses the representations and strategies that guide her action in decision-making processes in order to the betterment of school processes.
