Esta dissertação de Mestrado tem como temática do Turismo em Espaço Rural e Turismo
de Habitação em Portugal. Concretiza-se uma proposta de intervenção numa propriedade
situada no concelho de Silves. Esta propriedade encontra-se em processo de reconversão em
estabelecimento de Turismo em Espaço Rural pelo que é importante que, tal como está a
acontecer com o interior, o exterior seja recuperado de modo a ser criado um espaço
agradável para os hóspedes.
Efetua-se uma análise abrangente dos fatores passíveis de influenciar a realização do
projeto, recorrendo a informação documental e estatística. Assim retrata-se a realidade do
Turismo no nosso País, as suas designações, a história, e a evolução da oferta desde o início,
nos anos 70 até à atualidade tendo em conta também as várias modalidades de alojamento
e a legislação envolvida na sua definição.
De seguida procede-se à comparação da evolução da oferta turística de todos os tipos de
turismo, em diferentes níveis geográficos, nacional e mais especificamente para a região do
Algarve. Para esta região apresenta-se também a informação disponível relativamente ao
perfil dos turistas que a visitam.
Depois analisar-se-á o concelho de Silves do ponto de vista geomorfológico, físico,
histórico, cultural e ambiental. Todos os elementos estão apresentados do geral para o
particular do todo para o pormenor.
No final apresenta-se uma proposta de intervenção para a citada propriedade que
pertence à minha família há várias gerações e que vai ser convertida num estabelecimento
de Turismo em Espaço Rural, na modalidade “Casa de Campo”. O objetivo desta proposta é
a de recuperação do espaço exterior da propriedade que, apesar de ter um grande potencial,
não usado, se encontra em avançado grau de degradação. Propõe-se também algumas
atividades de animação turística a ser oferecidas a par com o serviço de alojamento como,
por exemplo, a realização de eventos, exposições e outras.
This Master's dissertation has the thematic of Rural Tourism and Housing Tourism in Portugal. The main objective is a proposal of intervention in a property located in the municipality of Silves. This property is in the process of conversion into a Rural Tourism establishment, so it is important that, in the same way that it’s happening inside the buildings, the exteriors will also be improved in order to create a pleasant space for guests. A comprehensive analysis of the factors that may influence the realization of the project is made, using documentary and statistical information. Thus, we make a protrait of the reality of tourism in our country, and its designations, history, and the evolution of the offer since the beginning, in the 1970s until today; also taking into account the various types of accommodation and the legislation involved in its definition. Next we compare the evolution of tourist offer of all types of tourism, at different geographical levels, nationally and more specifically for the Algarve region. For this region it’s also presented the available information regarding the profile of tourists who visit the region. Then the Municipality of Silves will be analyzed from a geomorphological, physical, historical, cultural and environmental point of view. All elements are presented from the general to the particular, from the whole to the detail. At the end, an intervention proposal is presented for the aforementioned property that has belonged to my family for several generations and that it’s going to be converted into a Rural Tourism establishment, with the "Country House" modality. The objective of this proposal is the recovery of the exterior space of the property that, despite having a great potential, it’s not used and, because of that, it’s in an advanced degree of degradation. It’s also proposed some tourist entertainment activities to be offered along with the accommodation service, such as events, exhibitions and others.
