provenientes do desporto automóvel.
Sports cars are a field which is in a continuous and constant evolution and allow the use of the utmost recent technological developments that come from motor sports. Propulsion systems, whether electric or combustion, are increasingly efficient, providing increasingly practical and satisfying driving experiences. Furthermore, the technology developed for this automotive segment, the procedure applied to this type of platforms has been an evidence to be equally relevant and gradually bringing the interaction between designers and engineers closer together in order to optimize the process of developing solid and effective solutions. Lately, the influx of publications inspired by models that were popular in the past has been remarkable, providing users with feelings of nostalgia and/or exclusivity, through products that were once significant, in this case in the automotive chronological line. It is in this context that the present investigation is developed, where Product Design methodologies are used in the redesigning of a car that significantly raised the limits of the automotive industry in the 80s, the Porsche 959, in order to modernize and optimize the concept and to accompany the paradigm shift in the sports car segment. To conclude, this project is based on a mixed methodology, interventionist and non-interventionist of a qualitative nature. Interventionist methods of a practical nature are used to prove the hypothesis supported by non-interventionist research and contribute when it comes to knowledge in the areas of study. In the non-interventionist methods, a literature review, direct observation, interviews and case studies selected are carried out according to the similarity with the investigation.
