O presente trabalho final de mestrado aborda a intervenção urbana e ecológica no Vale de Alcântara, propondo a renaturalização e revitalização desta zona de Lisboa. A proposta confronta a realidade atual, preservando a memória histórica do lugar e promovendo um ambiente em harmonia com a natureza, onde lazer, produção agrícola e produção de madeira coexistem em torno da "nova" ribeira de Alcântara. O projeto urbano integra o Bairro da Bela Flor com o território do vale, destacando a praça-miradouro central. Esta praça oferece um espaço comunitário, com áreas para habitação, comércio e serviços, fortalecendo a ligação entre os habitantes e o espaço público. A praça está dividida em três patamares permeáveis, ajudando na drenagem natural das águas pluviais e iniciando o percurso da água no vale. Os edifícios que ladeiam a praça são torres de dez a doze pisos, com distribuição em galeria. A varanda/galeria desempenha um papel crucial, proporcionando uma vista da paisagem renaturalizada do vale antes de entrar em casa. A construção tradicional do vale que utilizava materiais naturais como madeira e pedra, foi reinterpretada com soluções contemporâneas de menor pegada de carbono. O sistema construtivo sustentável baseia-se na madeira, com paredes e lajes em CLT e pilares em Glulam nos pisos superiores, enquanto nos pisos enterrados é utilizada uma estrutura de betão armado. O projeto demonstra uma integração desde a escala do território até aos pormenores das habitações, incluindo detalhes como o corrimão exterior das guardas, que se relacionam com a escala da mão e os materiais utilizados na intervenção. Concluindo, o projeto do Vale de Alcântara visa (re)pensar este lugar de forma sustentável e integrada com a natureza, combinando soluções contemporâneas com a memória paisagística e construtiva do vale, para criar um ambiente urbano conectado, resiliente e sustentável.
This master's thesis addresses the urban and ecological intervention in the Alcântara Valley, proposing the renaturalization and revitalization of this area in Lisbon. The proposal confronts the current reality while preserving the historical memory of the place, promoting an environment in harmony with nature where leisure, agricultural production, and wood production coexist around the "new" Alcântara stream. The urban project integrates the Bela Flor Neighbourhood with the valley territory, highlighting the central square-belvedere. This square offers a community space with areas for housing, commerce, and services, strengthening the connection between residents and public space. The square is divided into three permeable terraces, aiding the natural drainage of rainwater and initiating the water's journey through the valley. The buildings flanking the square are towers of ten to twelve floors, with a gallery distribution. The balcony/gallery space plays a crucial role, providing a view of the renaturalized valley landscape before entering the house. The traditional construction of the valley, which used natural materials such as wood and stone, has been reinterpreted with contemporary solutions that have a lower carbon footprint. The sustainable construction system is based on wood, with CLT walls and floors and Glulam pillars on the upper floors, while a reinforced concrete structure is used for the underground floors. The project demonstrates integration from the scale of the territory to the details of the dwellings, including features such as the exterior handrail of the guards, which relate to the scale of the hand and the materials used in the intervention. In conclusion, the Alcântara Valley project aims to rethink this place in a sustainable way, integrated with nature, combining contemporary solutions with the landscape and construction memory of the valley to create a connected, resilient, and sustainable urban environment.
