| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação tem como tema central as “Representações Sociais e Práticas Profissionais dos Assistente Sociais face à Violência sobre a pessoa idosa”. Pretende ir ao encontro da seguinte pergunta de partida: “De que modo as representações sociais da violência influenciam as práticas profissionais dos assistentes sociais?”, pelo que responde ao seguinte objetivo geral: Analisar a forma como as representações sociais da violência influenciam as práticas profissionais dos assistentes sociais. Com esta análise, espera-se ficar a conhecer melhor as práticas profissionais e as representações dos assistentes sociais da amostra, com vista a melhorar futuras intervenções junto da pessoa idosa. Recorreu-se a uma metodologia qualitativa, pelo que foram realizadas quinze entrevistas a técnicos de serviço social, com experiência profissional em equipamentos e respostas direcionadas à população idosa, tendo sido, posteriormente, efetuada uma análise de conteúdo temática. Os resultados obtidos foram ao encontro dos objetivos específicos pré-definidos, comprovando a relevância de discutir as representações sociais, pois estas condicionam as práticas profissionais, as estratégias, as formas de intervenção dos técnicos de serviço social e as dificuldades e constrangimentos no âmbito da sua atuação face à violência sobre as pessoas idosas. Pretendeu-se, ainda, contribuir para a pesquisa e reflexão em torno de um tema que nem sempre merece a devida atenção da sociedade civil, mas que requer uma redobrada atenção dos organismos competentes. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation has as main subject the "Social representations and professional practices of social assistants in the face of violence on the elderly ". It intends to meet the following starting question: "How do social representations of violence influence the professional practices of social assistants?", which responds to the following general objective: Analyze the way in which social representations of violence influence the professional practices of social assistants. With this study, it is intended to learn more about the professional practices and the representations of the social assistants of the sample, with the goal to improve future interventions with the elderly. A qualitative methodology was used, and fifteen interviews were conducted to social service technicians, with professional experience in equipment and in taking care of the elderly population. Subsequently, an analysis of Thematic content was developed. The results obtained met the specific pre-defined objectives, proving the relevance of discussing the social representations, because they condition the professional practices, the strategies, the intervention forms of the social service technicians and, the difficulties and constraints in the context of the technicians’ actions in the face of violence on the elderly. With this study, it was also intended to contribute to the research and the reflection on a subject that does not always deserve the proper attention of society, and which requires a redoubled attention from the competent institutions. | en |
