Resumo(s)
As tarefas para os aprendentes duma língua estrangeira não são apenas adquirir as regras
gramaticais mas também o uso da língua na realidade social. Nesta perspectiva, a concepção do
Abstract: Abstract The task facing foreign language learners is not only a matter of acquiring the grammar rules but also of mastering the language use in the social reality. In this perspective, the conception of teaching and learning foreign language has been profoundly modified, from a traditional conception for a more functional conception, which requires the development of the communicate competence. As such, the present work aims to contribute for the improvement of teaching Portuguese as a foreign language (hereafter referred to as PFL) through the proposal to teach the idiomatic expressions in the classroom. Whereas, the idiomatic expressions have the communicative and cultural force to stimulate the communicative competence besides contribute with the development of the semantic, syntactic and morphological learning. Moreover, it considers that the existence of the mother tongue plays an important role in the context of teaching and learning a foreign language, so in this paper, we show the contrastive analysis in the Portuguese idiomatic expression and the Chinese chéng yǔ aiming to reflect about the difficulties faced by Chinese speakers while learning Portuguese idiomatic expressions.
