| dc.description.abstract | Dialectal classifications and dialect characterization generally leave aside syntactic aspects of linguistic variation. Recent developments on dialect syntax enlarged the empirical ground for researching dialect differentiation and call for new regards upon the identification of dialects. This paper presents and discusses the geographical distribution of a selection of non-standard syntactic constructions in European Portuguese, drawn from the dialect corpus CORDIAL-SIN. The aims of this study are twofold: (i) to identify the areal distribution of some dialectal constructions in the Portuguese territory; (ii) to show how these syntactic areas meet, to a certain extent, important boundaries already identified for Portuguese dialects. | pt_PT |
