Learning.
This paper describes my experience during the Supervised Teaching Practice, concerning the subject Introduction to Professional Practice IV - Computer Science, of the Master of Education from the University of Lisbon. This activity was developed in the High School D. Dinis in Lisbon, and lasted for five classes of ninety minutes. The participant class belonged to the tenth grade of the Professional Technical Multimedia’s course (Appendix A – Course of Multimedia Technician’s Study Plan). From the technical training component of the course was selected the subject of Design, Communication and Audiovisual, and within this curriculum, the module of Multimedia Design, more specifically the content relating to Understanding Layout’s basics (Appendix B – Syllabus of the subject of Design, Communication and Audiovisual). That report explains the applied practices and teaching techniques, particularly with regard to supporting documents created, methods used in the classroom, evaluation strategies and results. Firstly is made a brief explanation of the issue to be analyzed (using the method of Problem Based Learning in the teaching of computer science) followed by a brief description of the course, discipline and taught subunit. Shortly after are presented the curricular guidelines that will explain, briefly, the main contents taught in the subunit, followed by the methodological guidelines, with a short approach to the method of Problem Based Learning. The school and the class where the intervention occurred are characterized briefly and, afterwards, are presented the methods of data collection and reporting, and analyzed their application’s results. After the description of how the intervention took place, I conclude the report with a personal analysis of the work done and the results observed.
