Sports cars have characteristics that distinguish them from other more common versions, with most of these characteristics resulting in a greater relationship and driving interaction between vehicle and driver. However, environmental awareness and technological innovation have promoted the resurgence of a new concept of electric automobiles, which are more efficient and sustainable. Within the scope of the sports car concept, the current characteristics of electric cars, such as excessive weight, lack of transmission control and engine sound, contradict many of the characteristics of the sports concept. However, these two automotive markets exist, with a significant size, and will eventually have to merge. This document is part of an academic internship report, carried out at the company Voyager, in Antwerp, a product and vehicle design studio, which includes the development of sports and electric cars in its portfolio. During this internship, it was possible to identify the relevance of the user (driver) experience as a fundamental requirement of a sports car, understand some emotional differences between driving sports cars with combustion engines and electric engines, proposing design guiding strategies for a optimizing the driving experience of an electric sports car. To carry out this study, a mixed methodology was used, using data collection instruments, such as literature review, interviews, case studies, simulation exercises, usability tests and user experience in relation to automobile sound stimuli. It is expected to disseminate the results obtained to the design departments of car manufacturers, with the aim of considering the incorporation of some strategies studied here in the development of their sports cars.
