O interesse do desenho de interiores na reabilitação de edifícios industriais surge com a vontade de perceber e, como consequência, criar soluções no que toca à intervenção no património industrial existente, preservando a sua memória e conjugando a arquitetura existente com as novas funções adquiridas.
Numa relação simbiótica entre os usos do passado, e as necessidades do presente, este Projeto Final de Mestrado procura criar uma solução, que de uma maneira conscienciosa, possa revitalizar o Bairro do Beato em Lisboa, servindo a população local e atraindo novos visitantes, fazendo a ligação daquela zona ao resto da cidade.
Como uma possível solução, o projeto procura dar uma nova visão sobre os antigos usos das fábricas da Manutenção Militar de Lisboa, o objeto de estudo, e trazer os antigos ofícios e artesanatos de volta ao nosso quotidiano, através da criação de um espaço de ensino multidisciplinar, dedicado às mais variadas artes e ofícios.
Assim, aos antigos edifícios da Central Elétrica, Oficina Automóvel, Administração e Depósito de Carnes, é dedicado um projeto que visa preservar a sua essência industrial, conferindo-lhes novos usos independentes das pré-existências.
ABSTRACT: The interest in the interior design on the building rehabilitation comes with the will of understanding, and, therefore, the capacity to create solutions related to the intervention on the existing industrial patrimony, preserving its memory and combining the existing architecture with its new acquired functions. In a symbiotic relationship between the uses of the past, and the necessities of present times, this Master’s Degree Project aims to create a solution which can revitalize de Beato neighbour in Lisbon in the most conscious way, serving its inhabitants while attracting new visitors, linking that torn area with the rest of the city. As a possible solution, this project is in a pursuit to find a new vision on the old uses of the Manutenção Militar factories, the object of study, and bring the ancient crafts back to our everyday lives, trough the creation of a polyvalent educational institution, dedicated to the most variable arts and crafts. Therefore, to the old buildings of the Central Elétrica, Oficina Automóvel, Administração and Depósito de Carnes, is dedicated a project that aims to preserve their industrial essence, giving them new independent functions from the pre-existences.
