A presente proposta de projeto final de mestrado surge do interesse da revitalização das aldeias e consiste no estudo de um projeto de arquitetura que propõe uma reocupação tradicional na vida rural, tendo em conta o construído e a sua história, preservando de uma forma geral a identidade e o carácter do lugar. O campo passou a ser associado a uma forma natural de vida – de paz, inocência e virtudes simples. À cidade associou-se a ideia de saber – comunicações, futuro, luz. Com esta nova vertente de cidade, os indivíduos que viviam no campo viram-se motivados para viver na cidade. A necessidade de recorrer ao que a terra fornece, já não era uma grande preocupação e a própria cultura acabou por ser esquecida e atualmente é apenas uma memória. Numa opinião individual é necessário voltar à memória dessa cultura, de modo a manter presente a identidade e o carácter original dos lugares para uma evolução natural da arquitetura, da cultura e para a ocupação da terra. Este trabalho tem como objetivo fazer um apelo a uma nova atitude no ramo de revitalização e da reocupação rural, o que irá implicar novas estratégicas económicas como uma nova abordagem ao turismo rural e revitalização de locais importantes com novas funções. O projeto não estará apenas centrado na recriação do passado, mas sobretudo numa visão social e económica do habitar no espaço rural.
This proposal for a final master's project arises from the interest of revitalizing villages and consists of the study of an architectural project that proposes a traditional reoccupation in rural life, taking into account the buildings and their history, generally preserving the identity and the character of the place. The countryside became associated with a natural way of life – of peace, innocence and simple virtues. The city was associated with the idea of knowledge – communications, future, light. With this new aspect of the city, individuals who lived in the countryside found themselves motivated to live in the city. The need to resort to what the land provides was no longer a major concern and the culture itself ended up being forgotten and is currently just a memory. In an individual opinion, it is necessary to return to the memory of this culture, in order to maintain the identity and original character of the places for a natural evolution of architecture, culture and land occupation. This work aims to call for a new attitude towards rural rehabilitation and reoccupation, which will imply new economic strategies, such as a new approach to rural tourism, rehabilitation of important places with new functions. The project will not only focus on recreating the past, but above all on a social and economic vision of living in rural areas.
