do Bem-estar psicológico.
Calinas, Conde, Ferreira, Fonseca, Guerreiro, Rodrigues, Romão, Rucha, Silva, &
sintomatologia.
This work is framed by the Paradigmatic Complementary Model, which conceives the regulation of psychological needs satisfaction as a promoter of psychological Wellbeing. Two quantitative studies were carried out in two different moments. The first one studies the relation of the psychological need of Pain with psychological Wellbeing/ Distress and it targets a selection of items that integrate the instrument used for evaluation of psychological needs on the second study. This one assesses the psychometric qualities of Psychological Needs Satisfaction Regulation Scale –reduced version (ERSN-57, Vasco, Bernardo, Cadilha, Calinas, Conde, Ferreira, Fonseca, Guerreiro, Rodrigues, Romão, Rucha, Silva, & Vargues-Conceição, 2013) and it studies the relation of psychological needs with psychological Well-being/Distress and symptomatology. In the first study the Pain Scale (Vasco, Ferreira, Romão, Silva, & Vargues-Conceição, 2013) was applied to a sample of 129 individuals and on the second study the ERSN-57 was applied to a sample of 271 individuals. An instrument was used for evaluation of psychological Well-being/Distress on both studies and two instruments were used for evaluation of symptomatology on the second study. The results show a reliable majority of the subscales of ERSN-57 and a factor structure with conceptual sense. The results also suggest positive relations of psychological needs with psychological Well-being/Distress and symptomatology, contrarily, the discrepancies of polarities show positive relations with psychological Distress and symptomatology and negative relations with psychological Well-being. The comparison between groups demonstrates that the group with higher regulation on both needs of polarity shows higher levels of psychological Well-being and low levels of psychological Distress and symptomatology. These results support the Paradigmatic Complementary Model in its central constructs and relations with psychological Well-being/Distress and symptomatology.
