Changes in nasal permeability are present in common diseases such as allergic rhinitis. Nasal congestion in these pathologies has been studied separately as an independent factor in promoting respiratory disturbances during sleep and consequente changes on sleep quality. The deleterious impact of sleep disorders on various aspects of daily life of patients is an important component of the morbidity associated with the disease often overlooked by heallth professionals. The objective and subjective measurements of nasal obstruction and quality of sleep seem to lack a linear correlation. On the one hand the subjective measures vary with live experiences and patient insight at a given time, objective measures have factors such as circadian rhythm, body position and sleep phase influencing them. The purpose of this work is to make a simple review of the sleep disorders in patients with nasal obstruction, their methods of evaluation and impact on quality of life, as well as its therapeutic measures.
