Procura-se neste trabalho, subordinado ao tema d' " Os problemas dos
Sistemas Financeiros Africanos no Contexto da Globalização Económica",
contribuir para a compreensão do impacto que o fenómeno da Globalização
tem na economia africana, em geral, e nos seus sistemas financeiros em
particular.
O trabalho começa pela procura de uma definição para a Globalização,
enveredando, de seguida, para localização do fenómeno no tempo e para o
debate actualmente em curso, que visa perceber as suas tendências futuras.
A última vaga da Globalização, as recentes crises financeiras a ela associadas
e o papel das organizações económicas internacionais no processo são
posteriormente abordadas, no sentido de fazer a ponte para os problemas com
os quais se defrontam, na actualidade, os Sistemas Financeiros Africanos. O
estudo das características destes, em particular da informalidade que os
caracteriza, é desenvolvido neste trabalho.
Finalmente, é analisado o caso paradigmático de Moçambique, como economia
que fez uma transição bem sucedida de uma economia de direcção central
para uma economia de mercado. A forma faseada e segura como essa
transição foi feita, bem como o contributo e compreensão das organizações
internacionais para todo o processo de consolidação das transformação
operadas, são abordadas no texto.
Our aim in this paper on "The Problems of the African Financial Systems in the Context of Globalization", is to make a contribution for the understanding of the impact on the African economy a phenomenon such as Globalization may have particularly on the financial systems. We start with a search for a proper definition of the term globalization, afterwards we direct our attention towards its temporal localization and to the present on going debate, trying to understand its possible future tendencies. The last wave of Globalization, the recent financial crises linked to it and the role of the international economic organizations in this process are also dealt, trying to bridge the problems with which the African Financial Systems are confronted with. The study of their features and, in particular, of their characterizing informality, is also made in this paper. Finally, we will study the paradigmatic case of Mozambique, as an economy which successfully made a transition from central planning to market economy. The phased and sound transition and the contribution and understanding of the international organizations in ali this process is also tackled in this paper.
