Abstract(s)
The theme of the final master's project is the insertion of a wine tourism program. For the development of the project, research was carried out on the Renaissance farms and how they are organized, as well as the architectures within the wine tourism. The case studies and references discussed contributed to a better understanding of wineries, organization of spaces, as well as the sectors they need to have for winemaking. The examples presented, besides having a unique architecture, contain a social component, integrating the value and sense of place, the connection between the building and the landscape. This project is presented at Quinta de Subserra, located in the region of Subserra, municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, a Renaissance farmhouse from the seventeenth century. The proposed program comprises a wine cellar (with a wine aging space, an administration space, a research and laboratory space, a tasting area and a warehouse), a wine cellar (with a restaurant and a shop), a reception, an event space, a hotel area, a shared kitchen, four accommodations and a study area. The winery building was organized in such a way that it had a direct connection with the vineyards, the landscape and at the same time was not invisible, taking into account the value of the place, allowing the visitor to be involved with the entire winemaking process, in different spaces and environments, thus promoting tourism.
