Resumo(s)
O presente trabalho procura analisar a maternidade de substituição e a sua
aplicação abordando o carácter altruísta da mesma. Visa estudar o comportamento humano face à necessidade procriativa quando confrontada com a infertilidade e o recurso à maternidade de substituição como alternativa e suas implicações.
A maternidade de substituição encontra-se envolta em polémica por inúmeros
factores, daí a importância de analisar algumas das implicações associadas.
Durante o estudo verificou-se que o carácter altruísta da maternidade de substituição, levanta algumas questões, indicando mais, para um factor
compensatório, mas alienado de um valor para a vida humana. Foram realizados questionários abertos de forma a validar as hipóteses apresentadas:
H1 – A maternidade de substituição devia ser uma das alternativas à
infertilidade;
H2 – O valor da vida humana é incomensurável, e a maternidade de
substituição não atribui valor à vida humana;
H3 – A ética, o respeito e a individualidade como condicionalismos da ação;
H4 – A maternidade de substituição deve ser de carácter altruísta.
The present study aims to analyze surrogacy and its application, considering its altruistic character. It attempts to study the human behavior facing the needs to reproduce when confronted with infertility and the resource to surrogacy as an alternative and its implications. The surrogacy finds its self surrounded by many implications, therefore the importance of analyzing the implications associated with it. The study verifies that the altruistic character of surrogacy brings up some questions, indicating more to a compensation factor but alienating the value for human life. Questionnaires were carried out to validate this hypothesis. H1 – Surrogacy should be one of the alternatives to infertility; H2 – Human life is priceless, and surrogacy doesn’t give a value to human life; H3 – Ethics, respect, and individuality as limits to acts; H4 – Surrogacy must be an altruistic act.
