Abstract(s)
As infraestruturas rodoviĆ”rias e ferroviĆ”rias que unem e fragmentam a cidade de Lisboa definem a relaĆ§Ć£o paradoxal do Homem com a Natureza. A rede viĆ”ria que une as vĆ”rias realidades urbanas desconectadas e perifĆ©ricas a Lisboa sobrepƵe-se aos circuitos naturais.
O presente trabalho evidencia por um lado, a recontextualizaĆ§Ć£o das infraestruturas e vazios urbanos adjacentes e a sua relaĆ§Ć£o com os espaƧos verdes com vista a colmatar lacunas do tecido urbano da Ćrea Metropolitana de Lisboa.
O Vale de AlcĆ¢ntara, em particular, Ć© um exemplo de limite geogrĆ”fico e desta transiĆ§Ć£o incompleta do meio artificializado para o naturalizado. A Ć”rea de intervenĆ§Ć£o escolhida, o Bairro da Liberdade, Ć© uma comunidade que vivenciou as transformaƧƵes deste limite: da ribeira que trazia sustento e refĆŗgio, Ć estaĆ§Ć£o de comboio que permitiu a densificaĆ§Ć£o humana, atĆ© ao viaduto que destruiu o palimpsesto dos marcos socioculturais.
Esta temĆ”tica da naturalizaĆ§Ć£o de ambientes artificializados levou Ć procura de soluƧƵes para a resoluĆ§Ć£o dos vazios urbanos provocados pela sobre infraestruturaĆ§Ć£o, tendo-se optado por estabelecer conjuntos edificados de ligaĆ§Ć£o entre zonas consolidadas e nĆ£o consolidadas e espaƧos verdes.
A transformaĆ§Ć£o da encosta do Bairro da Liberdade, com principal atenĆ§Ć£o ao eixo das Escadinhas da Liberdade, fundamentada na reconstituiĆ§Ć£o de memĆ³rias e vivĆŖncias dos moradores, permite reintegrar este nĆŗcleo urbano na malha da cidade, complementando-o com novas habitaƧƵes, equipamentos e o repensar das grandes infraestruturas urbanas propondo um novo modo de vida em proximidade a corredores verdes e espaƧos renaturalizados.
The road and railway infrastructures that unite and fragment the city of Lisbon define the paradoxical relationship between Humanity and Nature. The road network that connects the several disconnected and peripheral urban realities to Lisbon overlaps the natural circuits. This work highlights the recontextualization of infrastructures and adjacent urban voids and their relationship with green spaces to fill gaps in the urban fabric of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. The AlcĆ¢ntara Valley is an example of a geographical limit and of this incomplete transition from the artificial to the natural environment. The chosen intervention area, the Liberdade neighbourhood, is a community that experienced the transformations of this edge first-hand: from the stream that brought sustenance and refuge, to the train station that allowed human densification, to the highway viaduct that destroyed the palimpsest of socio-cultural landmarks. This theme of naturalisation of artificial environments led to the search for solutions to solve the urban voids caused by over-infrastructure, having opted for the establishment of mixed-use buildings connecting consolidated and non-consolidated areas and green spaces. The transformation of the hillside of the Liberdade neighbourhood, with the focus on the āEscadinhas da Liberdadeā stairway axis, based on the retelling of the uses and experiences of its population, allows this urban nucleus to be reintegrated into the city's fabric, complementing it with new housing, public buildings, and the rethinking of major urban infrastructures, proposing a new way of life between green spaces and the city center.
