This intervention project, developed on the domain of the Education Sciences, in the specialization of Adultsâ Education and Training, aims to decrease the number of dropout in processes of recognition, validation and certification of skills in secondary level, in Novas Oportunidades Centre from Escola SecundĂĄria Pedro Alexandrino. The systems of recognition, validation and certification of skills, inscribed on the Lifelong Learning perspective, which values the learning in several contexts, formal, non-formal and informal contexts, have became more powerful in the generality of educative systems, occupying a key place in the European educative politics and filling a wide area of discussion in the Adultsâ Education field. In Portugal, the system of recognition of skills is leaded by Novas Oportunidades Initiative, which has developed a huge effort mobilizing the population, as it is confirmed by the increasing number of adults, who did not complete education level of primary or secondary, joining Novas Oportunidades Initiative. However, it is reported, in the generality of the centres and particularly in the Novas Oportunidades Centre in intervention, a lot of adults mostly from the secondary level, who do not finish the process of recognition. To broach the problem of the dropouts in process of recognition of skills, from secondary level, will allow a more objective intervention, contributing to increase the number of adults who obtain the certification in the Novas Oportunidades Centre in analysis, becoming possible to promote the qualification of poorly schooling adults. As this is a situation that concerns the technique and pedagogic team from the centre this project presents, after the factors connected to the problem have been diagnosed, a plan of activities which involves all the team members and offers ways of intervention to approach the issue in cause.
