Abstract(s)
Ourém is a small town in Portugal with low dynamics and an undiversified socioeconomic life, characterized by low intensity flows that are highly subordinated to the existing religious tourism in Fátima. Therefore, the main goal of this final master project was to identify the real needs of the city and its inhabitants and to highlight one of its primordial values, the medieval village, as an element that enhances a new dynamic and also reinforces the one that already exists, this could be achieved by rehabilitating urban areas and also by enabling a greater autonomy and a social, cultural and economic development, thus contributing to the socioeconomic cohesion of this territory. The urban and architectural proposal that was developed is based on the appreciation of the values of memory and identity of the place, in order to conceive an architectural object that highlights these values and make them available for both inhabitants and visitors, by providing spaces that not only allow the contemplation of the landscape, but also activate the perception, cognition and emotions of the subject relative to the place.
