Resumo(s)
Desde a Revolução Industrial, o desenvolvimento tecnológico fez emergir novas dinâmicas e contradições no mundo do trabalho (Harvey, 2008).
Since the Industrial Revolution, technological development has brought forth new dynamics and contradictions in the world of work (Harvey, 2008). In recent decades, the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the internet has led to the emergence of a new form of labor: teleworking (Castells, 2007; Camila, 2018) and the Italian). With the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent implementation of social isolation measures, remote teleworking from home was abruptly catapulted as the primary alternative for capital to continue generating surplus value. Time and work underwent objective and qualitative changes, altering the labor dynamics of both employees and employers (Aderaldo, Aquino e Severiano, 2020). This research aims to analyze how social times were managed by company managers working from home in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a pandemic context. To achieve this, a qualitative methodological approach was chosen, as it sought to delve into the study of subjective factors that structure the procedural dynamics of home-based teleworking and, in doing so, reveal how these workers managed the different social times that shape their lives. Fifteen interviews were conducted with company managers, transcribed, and analyzed using MaxQda software. The results of this research reveal a complex dynamic in the work and personal lives of these managers due to the implementation of teleworking from home during the pandemic, highlighting contradictions in the capital-labor relationship and the management of social times.
