Este trabalho visa compreender a evolução dos Princípios do Equador (PE) ao longo do tempo, e a sua importância como ferramenta de gestão do risco de crédito, risco ambiental e risco reputacional no campo do Project Finance.
Conduziu-se o estudo de forma a compreender o modo como aqueles riscos influenciam as instituições financeiras no âmbito do Project Finance. A opinião de vários bancos portugueses foi recolhida através de um questionário de resposta aberta, podendo assim conhecer-se o ponto de vista dos principais intervenientes nesta temática.
Os resultados obtidos mostram que os PE têm tido uma evolução positiva ao longo da sua existência, consistindo numa ferramenta útil para a gestão dos riscos relacionados com o Project Finance.
This work aims to understand the evolution of the Equator Principles (EP) along the time, and its importance as a tool to the management of the credit risk, environmental risk and reputational risk in the field of Project Finance. The study was conducted to understand how that risk influences the banks in the field of Project Finance. The opinion of several Portuguese banks was collected through a open-response questionnaire in order to know the point of view of leading intervenients on this thematic. The findings obtained show that the EP have had a positive evolution throughout their existence and consist in a useful tool for managing the risks related to Project Finance.
