This final master's work consists of the development of a business plan to study the feasibility of expanding an existing company in the laundry and dry sector, namely a self-service laundry, to a different location within the same municipality of Almada. According to Bird and Jelinek (1988), dynamic environments cause failures and uncertainty in obtaining information, so the ability to develop reliable business plans may be questionable. Thus, this work proposes that the execution of a business plan in this sector should be developed based on a business strategy that aims first to ensure the company's viability by preparing the company for a second phase of strategic innovation where an highly competitive environment is expected according to Reeves et al. (2015). The expansion of the company will take place through the implementation of a new store in Charneca de Caparica, through an innovative washing service, designed by the company itself, an efficient drying service and an extra ironing service, aiming in the near future to offer a series of technological and service innovations. The methodology selected to make the business plan was the Harvard (2007) methodology. Information used was based on external contextual and competitive surrounding, networking, competitors analysis and on primary data collection, by conducting a questionnaire, and secondary data essential to the preparation of the business plan. Financial plan developed to analyze the viability of the project obtained positive results denoting that the project is feasible.
