Abstract(s)
The purpose of this study was to understand the relation between work ability, satisfaction and well-being of the professionals, the requirements of patient handling tasks and the prevalence of self-reported musculoskeletal complaints. The sample was constituted by nurses and nursing aides of two wards in a private hospital, in its majority women, singles and graduate, with an average age of 33,08 years. The average work ability was good (38,84) and significantly associated with the age in nursing aides. The professionals had told more complaints in the lumbar (53,42%), cervical (42,47%) shoulders (36,11%) and dorsal (33,33%) in the last 12 months, verifying themselves significant statistical differences between the presence and the absence of dorsal and lumbar complaints and the ICT, but without limiting the activity. The satisfaction of the professionals is higher, although there were inferior values to the lack of time (51,95%) and availability of it leadership (54,55%). 19,23% had attended or carried through mobilizations or transferences with dangerous methods and 30,77% had attended or carried through mobilizations without the adequate equipment. The performance of the professionals during the transferences was good, although the absence of a specific plan. The professionals‟ and patients‟ perception of the transferences was positive.
