dc.description.abstract	No período que se estende entre o romantismo e o movimento ligado àrevista Presença, também conhecido como segundo modernismo, designaçãoque do ponto de vista doutrinário levantara forte polémica, a doutrinaçãoestética portuguesa exorbitou dos limites de uma problematizaçãoexclusivamente ligada aos valores formais e artísticos da obra de arte,revelando um cariz filosófico de significativo relevo.Na verdade, assiste-se neste período a uma continuidade da tradiçãoantiga, de cunho essencialmente platónico-aristotélico, o qual parececontradizer amiúde algumas tentativas de afinar a doutrinação neste domíniopelo diapasão da matriz moderna da estética, a partir da noção de ruptura e deconsequente alteração paradigmática. Se, porventura, a partir da década de1960 se assiste a uma maior abertura da consciência por parte dos artistasplásticos aos problemas estéticos ligados ao fazer artístico, o facto é que adoutrinação portuguesa, entre sensivelmente 1840 e 1940, manteve a feiçãopredominantemente filosófica que se desenhara desde o Renascimento e queperduraria até ao século XIX.No âmbito do levantamento das linhas matriciais que dão corpo a umahistória das ideias estéticas em Portugal, podemos afirmar a sua tendencialconvergência para uma concepção ontológica da obra de arte, a qual seinscreve muito para além do carácter estritamente técnico ou funcional da suarealização, assim como exorbita, em larga medida, dos limites sensíveis daexperiência estética.	pt
dc.description.abstract	During the period between romanticism and the movement connected withthe magazine Presença, also known as second modernism, designation which,from the doctrinal point of view had given rise to a strong controversy, thePortuguese aesthetic doctrination exceeded the limits of a problematizationexclusively linked to the formal and artistical values of the work of art, exposingrelevant philosophical aspect.In fact, we are facing the follow up of the old tradition with a platonicaristotelicmark, which often seems to contradict some attempts of tuning up thedoctrination in this field with the modern matrix of aesthetics, from the idea ofrupture and of the resulting pragmatic change. If, by chance, from the 60 s on,we can witness a greater opening of conscience, from the plastic artists' side,concerning the aesthetic problems relating to the artistical making, reality showsthat the Portuguese doctrination, approximately between 1840 and 1940,reserved the prevailingly philosophic feature, which began appearing from theRenaissance and would last till the 19th century.Within the scope of the search for the highlights, which embody the historyof the aesthetic ideas in Portugal, we can state its trendy convergence towardsan ontological concept of the work of art, which goes far beyond the strictlytechnical or functional nature of its performance, as well as exceeding, to agreat extent, in a great measure, the clear limits of the aesthetic experience.	pt
