This study has as main aim the use of games (applets) in the development of proportional reasoning in adults. Games/applets are resources that can help to create an alternative to the traditional teaching methods. So, We decided to explore the potential of these technologies in the development of critical thinking in relation to problem solving and also observe proportional reasoning of the trainees of âCursos de Educação e Formação de Adultosâ (EFA). This project aims to highlight the importance of the games / applets on the learning of proportional reasoning and aims to meet the following specific issues: âą which is the relationship between the use of games / applets in mathematical activity and proportional thinking skills? âą which are the ways of thinking used by students in what concerns problem solving /challenges in proportionality or the management of daily difficulties from a mathematical point of view? This study takes a qualitative / interpretative approach based on the observation of adult learners interacting with games/applets. These interactions will be further analyzed and interpreted based on the record in video format, the written records of direct observation and questionnaires to perform to the trainees. The expected results are: the motivation and interest of students in work in games/applets, participating and sharing their results in the resolution of the proposed activities with colleagues, which will result in a significant acquisition of the concepts and processes involved in the proportional thinking.
