Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho pretende fazer uma reflexão sobre as características do
desenvolvimento que estão subentendidas na relação com a educação. O
conceito "desenvolvimento" foi evoluindo ao longo das últimas cinco décadas,
sempre com a preocupação crescente de conciliar os aspectos económicos com
os da vertente social.
Actualmente o desenvolvimento é abordado de forma integradora, abrangendo
não apenas o factor económico, mas também o social, o cultural e portanto, a
educação. Nesta perspectiva é relevante perceber o que a educação "produz"
nas pessoas, e como essas potenciais transformações têm influência no
desenvolvimento de um país.
Moçambique, país sobre o qual se baseia o nosso estudo, herdou o sistema
educativo da estrutura colonial, que não se adequava às suas necessidades
globais. Contudo, embora se encontre em situação económica e socialmente
desfavorável privilegiou desde a independência o sector educativo como
condição essencial para os desafios impostos pelo desenvolvimento
The present paper aims to study the characteristics of development related with education. The concept "development" has been evolving the last tive decades, always with the growing concern of conciliating the economic and the social aspects. The development is nowadays seen as integrated, including not only the economic factor, but also the social the cultural and therefore the education. Along this view it is important to understand how education affects people and how these potential transformations influence the development of a country. The country in witch this study is based, Mozambique, notwithstanding it is in an unfavourable economic and social situation, has favoured, since the independence, the educational sector as essential condition for the challenges posed by development.
