Abstract(s)
altura atingida pelas mesmas.
This work intends to contribute to a clarification of some aspects related to the optimization of the vertical jump. In this way, the objective focused on demonstrating how strength and plyometric training are essential for improving performance and, consequently, for increasing the height reached. For this purpose, female athletes who performed strength and plyometric training were evaluated. In order to compare results, 20 male athletes were also evaluated, but who did not perform the aforementioned training. For both groups, the ChronoJump contact mat was used and two assessments were performed at different times. The evaluations consisted of analyzing two vertical jumps (Squat Jump and Counter Movement Jump) in order to collect the results of the height reached by them. It was demonstrated, by the results obtained, that the athletes improved their performance and that all the tests carried out showed a higher average compared to what they had initially obtained. It was concluded that strength and plyometric training were essential to increase explosive strength and, in turn, the vertical jump height of athletes.
