Para além do papel de trabalhador, os indivíduos desempenham outros papéis de vida, que influenciam o bem-estar e a satisfação com a vida em geral, sendo, no entanto, na actividade profissional onde despendem a maior parte do seu tempo. O fator que maior influência exerce nesta actividade, são as condições de trabalho, que, com as constantes alterações no mundo do trabalho, se têm deteriorado, comprometendo a saúde e bem-estar dos trabalhadores e das próprias Organizações. A presente investigação tem como objetivo estudar as condições de trabalho e a sua relação com a satisfação com a vida em geral, bem como o papel mediador da satisfação com os papéis de vida profissional, familiar e de lazer. A Escala de Satisfação com a Vida, a Escala de Satisfação com os Papéis de Vida e o Inquérito Saúde e Trabalho, foram aplicados a 243 Enfermeiros(as). Os resultados revelaram um nível médio de satisfação para com a vida em geral, resultado que parece ser influenciado pelas condições de trabalho, e uma maior satisfação no desempenho dos papéis Familiar e de Lazer. Todas as componentes mais específicas das condições de trabalho apresentaram uma relação direta apenas com a Satisfação Profissional, e é apenas esta variável a que medeia a relação entre as condições de trabalho e a Satisfação com a Vida em geral No final, são, ainda, referidas as limitações do presente estudo, e sugestões para futuras investigações.
Beyond the role of worker, individuals play other life roles, which influence well-being and satisfaction with life in general. However, is in the occupational activity where they spend most of their time. The most influential factor in work are the working conditions, which, with the constant changes in the world of work, have deteriorated, compromising the health and well-being of workers and Organizations. The present research aims to study working conditions and their relation with satisfaction with life in general, as well as the mediating role of satisfaction with occupational, family and leisure life roles. The Satisfaction with life Scale, the Satisfaction with life roles Scale and the Inquérito Saúde e Trabalho were applied to 243 Nurses. The results revealed an average satisfaction level for life in general, which seems to be influenced by working conditions, and showed more satisfaction with Family and Leisure roles. All the more specific components of the working conditions, presented a direct relation with the Professional Satisfaction, and only this variable mediates the relation between the working conditions and the Satisfaction with Life in general. In the end, are also mentioned the limitations of the present study, and suggestions for future investigations.
