Viver num presente imaginado e esperar por um futuro idealizado. O presente trabalho dedica-se à análise e investigação como o pensamento utópico, atua como catalisador de transformações e criador de novos conceitos, espaços e práticas projetadas pensadas para um futuro idealizado. Como através do pensamento do que é a Arquitetura e o como o desenho do objeto arquitetónico pode facilitar a experiência da aprendizagem e compreensão. A manifestação das utopias reflete uma insatisfação com o presente. Assim, existe uma procura sobre a exploração como o processo criativo do imaginário afeta diretamente o que se entende como o papel fundamental da Arquitetura e como esta define novas diretrizes. A premissa inicial conduz a uma reflexão sobre o estado atual da cidade, com foco no crescente distanciamento entre a cidade e o rio. Esse afastamento, intensificado pela era industrial, resultou numa cidade desprovida de identidade. Por isso, procura-se desenvolver uma análise crítica que investigue a relação entre a cidade e o rio com a sua paisagem, elementos essenciais que definem a identidade e a memória do lugar. É esquecida na sua identidade, com o dever da aproximação debruça-se, sobre a forma especial, no lugar. Um lugar que, com o olhar atento a imaginação e a memória pode ser a charneira para uma reconexão entre a água e a terra, na procura, do novo, afirmar o verdadeiro que sempre existiu na cidade de Setúbal. O marco. Uma cidade que vive para e do Rio. Um mundo em constante mudança, a linha da margem é alterada e transformada. O Homem procura esta mudança, é com processo onde a erosão do morro conduz ao pensamento e desenho do seu Marco na paisagem, o “edifício-escola”, é a procura pelo realçar do que é criado, fortemente agarrado a uma matéria que através do jogo entre o positivo e o negativo, nasce o objeto. O seu desenho procura a ideia de união um abraçar do que o envolve, o monumento cravado marcado pela verticalidade. O objeto de culto. Destaca-se pela sua forma como se insere na paisagem e pela forma em que se eleva na procura da verticalidade, a tentativa por alcançar o céu, na sua procura reflectiva onde o comportamento da cidade no seu limite e como a atual mudança se materializa. A natureza e envolvente vão à procura e começam a entrar e adentrar neste objeto puro, o visitante é desafiado a diversas sensações, aventurando-se sobre o desconhecido e como este se revê se integra na paisagem, a abertura entre os extremos do objeto criado conduz o visitante ao olhar da descoberta na ligação às três marcas da paisagem. O verde da Arrábida, o azul do Sado e o amarelo de Tróia.
Living in an imagined present and hoping for an idealized future. This work is dedicated to analyzing and investigating how utopian thinking acts as a catalyst for transformation and the creation of new concepts, spaces and practices designed for an idealized future. How through the thought of what architecture is and how the design of the architectural object can facilitate the experience of learning and understanding. The manifestation of utopias reflects a dissatisfaction with the present. Thus, there is a search to explore how the creative process of the imaginary directly affects what is understood as the fundamental role of architecture and how it defines new guidelines. The initial premise leads to a reflection on the current state of the city, focusing on the growing distance between the city and the river. This distancing, intensified by the industrial era, has resulted in a city devoid of identity. The aim is therefore to develop a critical analysis that investigates the relationship between the city and the river and its landscape, essential elements that define the identity and memory of the place. Forgotten in its identity, with the duty of approximation, the author looks at the place in a special way. A place that, with an attentive eye, imagination and memory can be the hinge for a reconnection between water and land, in the search for the new, to affirm the true that has always existed in the city of Setúbal. The landmark. A city that lives for and from Rio. A world in constant change, the line of the shore is altered and transformed. Man seeks this change, and it is through this process that the erosion of the hill leads the author to think about and draw his landmark in the landscape, the “school building”. It is the search to highlight what is created, strongly attached to a material that, through the play between positive and negative, gives birth to the object. Its design seeks the idea of union, an embracing of what surrounds it, the engraved monument marked by verticality. The cult object. It stands out for the way it fits into the landscape and the way it rises in the search for verticality, the attempt to reach the sky, in its reflective search where the city’s behavior at its limit and how the current change materializes. Nature and its surroundings go in search of and begin to enter and enter this pure object, the visitor is challenged to various sensations, venturing into the unknown and how it is revised and integrated into the landscape, the opening between the extremes of the object created leads the visitor to the look of discovery in the connection to the three marks of the landscape.
