Abstract(s)
Atualmente, face à crise económica crescente, a Responsabilidade Social
As organizações devem
justiça organizacional (H3) e o efeito moderador do significado do trabalho nessa mesma
relação (H4). Além disso, explorou-se a influência do significado do trabalho no
envolvimento no trabalho (H2).
Currently, in the face of the growing economic crisis, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plays an increasingly significant role in organizational strategy, providing a competitive advantage. It impacts both the external reputation and the internal values and practices of companies. Organizations must understand the implemented actions that influence employee engagement. This study aimed to determine whether CSR has a positive impact on employee engagement (H1), as well as to analyze the mediating effect of organizational justice (H3) and the moderating effect of work meaning in this relationship (H4). Additionally, the influence of work meaning on employee engagement (H2) was explored. To support the results of this investigation, a questionnaire survey was conducted with a sample of 309 participants, distributed between Portugal and Spain. The findings indicate that work meaning does not show significant differences between Portugal and Spain. Furthermore, Spanish employees reported more positive perceptions across all variables. A positive relationship between CSR and employee engagement was identified, along with the mediating role of organizational justice in this relationship. It was also found that work meaning positively influences employee engagement but does not moderate the relationship between CSR and engagement.
