revolução industrial, causou consequências profundas no ciclo climático do planeta. O planeamento
urbano e arquitetónico no Séc.
onde a vida toma lugar.
implementações do design ecológico urbano.
Assim, a Arquitetura concilia o desenvolvimento
ABSTRACT: We are experiencing times of disproportionate acceleration. The human being is part of a natural cycle of infinite dimension, in development for millennia, that has always followed its course. In this context the human being was directly related to the resources that our planet has. It can be seen as a human historical development that from a few generations up to the present is a process of unbridled expansion. Today, the urban society system is the phenomenon and manifestation of space planning and thought that welcomes the majority of the world’s population. The progressive development of this form of occupation, always proposed as a form of aid to man, did not consider, and almost does not consider at present, its impact on the global environment that hosts it. The expansion of human activity, essentially from the industrial revolution, has had profound consequences on the planet’s climate cycle. Urban and architectural planning in the 21st century will be required to propose new ways of being and ecological behaviors, necessary to welcome the continuous, dynamic and growing demographic flow. In this work, in the ambit of the Architecture, it is proposed a study of space based on functionality and simplicity, following the desire to create inspiring and comfortable spaces where life takes place. As a complement to the act of inhabiting it is proposed the incorporation of some functions that aim to minimize the impact of human activity: the incorporation of food production areas and the collection of rainwater for irrigation. Thus Architecture supports man not only from a formal point of view, but also proposes a living and comfortable space that partially generates and satisfies the primary needs of men. In this way Architecture seeks a balance of introduction of other basal functions and a possible constructive encounter between technology, existing and necessary. The project’s elaboration attempts to cultivate a study and observation perspective regarding the field of development of urban ecology and new approaches to possible and viable implementations of urban ecological design. The necessary elaboration of experimental methods of different scales, to the specific adaptation to urban sites. In this, it is fundamental, in any proposal, a fusion between architecture, history, science, design and planning to obtain possible solutions. In this study Architecture is thought of as an organic element that produces “naturally” the basic elements necessary to life. Thus, Architecture reconciles the modern ecological technological development with traditional techniques and the use of local materials, creating a punctual solution in an economic, social context of urban character.
