Da crise de 2008 emergiu, na União Europeia, o conceito de união bancária, em que um dos três pilares é o mecanismo único de resolução.
O mecanismo único de resolução foi aplicado experimentalmente em Portugal ao BES, SA, em 3/8/2014.
O objetivo principal desta dissertação é o de investigar os resultados da resolução do BES,SA., procurando determinar o como e o porquê da resolução experimental do BES,SA e o como e o porquê da criação de um banco de transição, o Novo Banco, SA.
From the crisis of 2008 the concept of banking union emerged in the European Union, in the sense that one of the three pillars is the single resolution mechanism. The unique resolution mechanism was applied experimentally, in Portugal, to Banco Espírito Santo, S.A. in 3/8/2014. The main objective of this dissertation is to investigate the results of the Resolution of BES trying to determine how and the reason why the experimental resolution of BES has taken place and also how and why the creation of a transition bank, named Novo Banco, S.A.
