Abstract(s)
A Segurança e o Bem-Estar são objetivos do Homem.
No entanto, nem sempre o Homem, consegue manter o Bem-Estar e a Segurança em patamares aceitáveis. Uma das causas é, justamente, o exacerbar de conflitos, com repercussões para o próprio Homem e para o ambiente. O conflito que eclodiu, em 2011, na Síria, é um destes casos.
Tomámos a cidade de Alepo para estudar uma forma de intervenção arquitetónica que permita contribuir para devolver às suas populações a qualidade de vida que merecem.
Das várias intervenções que se mostravam necessárias, face à destruição presente, elegemos equipamentos ligados às diversas formas de que se pode revestir o Bem-Estar, baseados em critérios de satisfação de necessidades, segundo as teorias de Maslow sobre esta temática.
Assim, um Hospital pretende, desde logo, satisfazer a necessidade mais básica – a de ter Saúde - e é o programa funcional mais complexo da proposta. A preocupação com as questões sociais e de segurança são combatidas com o Centro-de-Dia, o Apoio de Idosos, o Orfanato/Residência Universitária e a Unidade de Polícia.
A prática religiosa terá também um espaço a ela dedicado, como forma de proporcionar o Bem-Estar espiritual.
Todo este conjunto arquitetónico será inserido numa envolvente viva, com novas acessibilidades criadas, onde se insere um intermodal de transportes. Uma nova zona verde, que permita, por si só, transmitir uma noção de paz e de bem-estar.
Como corolário, o equipamento será dotado de meios de resistência e capacidade de sobrevivência a ataques militares de média envergadura, desde logo, por ser na sua maioria subterrâneo, proporcionando Segurança às populações, outra necessidade primária.
ABSTRACT: Security and Well-Being are Man’s objectives. However, Man has not always been able to keep well-being and security at acceptable levels. One of the causes is precisely the exacerbation of conflicts, with consequences for Man himself and the environment. This has been the case of the conflict that broke out in Syria, in 2011. We choose the city of Aleppo to study a form of architectural intervention that would help restore the life quality its populations deserve to have. Of the various interventions that were necessary, on the present context of destruction, we have chosen equipments connected to the various forms of which Well-Being can be achieved based on the criteria of needs satisfaction, as per Maslow's theories on this subject. Thus, a hospital intends, firstly, to satisfy the most basic need - Health - and is the most complex functional program of the proposal. The concern with social issues and security are countered with the Elderly Support, Day Centre, and Orphanage and the Police Station. Religious practice will also have a space dedicated to it, as a way of providing spiritual well-being. All this architectural set will be inserted in a living environment with new accesses, where we can find a transportation intermodal. A new green area able to convey a sense of peace and well-being. As a corollary, the architectural element will be endowed with means of resistance and ability to survive medium-sized military attacks, as most of it will be underground to provide Security to the populations, another primary need.
