This article reaffirms the idea that semiotic theory in its North American headquarters, which can be perceived as critical and creative platform, in the universe of contemporary art. One significant example is the Portuguese artist Rui Effe. He, by himself, professor of semiotics discipline at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, in Barcelos, makes significant use of a sensitive geometry that, through careful observation of the landscape, he defines a visual mediated structures, appearances and revealing concepts of acute semiotic knowledge — bringing to converge practice and consciousness of the language
