With growth and constant urban development, preserving historic sites or buildings becomes essential to maintaining a sense of cultural identity. The revolution and industrial crises shaped the landscape, leaving behind a legacy of heritage elements where contemporary solutions are increasingly being explored alternatives for abandoned architectural remains, demonstrating how rehabilitation of such sites can have a positive impact on cultural landscapes, local memory and new architectural functions. The Llobregat river is, in many ways, an important element in Spain's history and economy and represents a landmark of development for the Catalan community through its numerous i ndustrial colonies. Analysing the case of the Can Bros colony in the province of Martorell as an i ntegral part of the identity and memory of this region, this proposal aims to propose a project that seeks harmonious coexistence between architectural legacy and contemporary needs in i ndustrial complexes. In the case of Can Bros, the challenges caused by the deterioration of structures and obsolete functions that led to the abandonment and degradation of this colony, were studied. Solutions are proposed to reintegrate it into the landscape with a new contribution to the urban and social development of this region. The proposal considers the concept of cultural landscape as a holistic approach for physical structures, as well as for the intangible elements of memory and their cultural significance. The colony's proximity to SEAT's production centre, as well as the industrial intensity of this region, inspired a proposal that aims to unite an old vacant industry with a new one that is constantly evolving. By renovating the obsolete structures of Can Bros, the aim is to establish a creative hub for SEAT with co-working, research and exhibition spaces in one of the old i ndustrial buildings. A new building dedicated to holding events is also proposed to promote i nteraction with the local community, fostering a sense of belonging and of continuity.
