Esta tese é um argumento a favor da semelhança de espécie entre crenças, de uma não
distinção entre crença e conhecimento, e de que uma crença não deve ser totalmente privada. Para tal,
debatem-se os posicionamentos críticos de autores como Ludwig Wittgenstein, William James,
Charles Sanders Peirce e Gianni Vattimo, entre outros. Discute-se também a relação entre crença e
outros conceitos como linguagem, experiência, acção e dúvida. A dissertação está dividida em treze
secções dedicadas às relações mencionadas, e uma décima quarta, conclusiva, em que se perceberá de
que modo os argumentos da tese se relacionam entre si.
Abstract: The thesis favors argument for a similitude between belief and knowledge, a non-distinction in kind between different types of beliefs and the idea that a belief cannot be completely private. In order to achieve so, we shall debate the critical positions of several authors such as Ludwig Wittgenstein, William James, Charles Sanders Peirce and Gianni Vattimo, amongst others. The relation between belief and other concepts like language, experience, action and doubt will also be discussed. The dissertation is divided into thirteen sections each concerning every one of the relations mentioned. In the conclusive section we shall understand how the arguments of the thesis relate to each other.
