Resumo(s)
O principal objetivo do presente estudo visa analisar o papel mediador do conflito
The aim of the present study is to analyze the mediator role of the work-family conflict in the relation between unpredictable working time and burnout, as well as to explore the supervisor specific support for work-family as a possible moderator variable between the unpredictable hours and the work-family conflict. A total of 291 responses from professionals belonging to the Guarda Nacional Republicana were analyzed. As expected, the results obtained indicate that individuals with more unpredictable schedules will find it more difficult to conciliate the role of work with the role of family, which in turn, will increase the burnout levels. In addition, the mediation analysis showed that the work-family conflict has a total mediation effect in the relation between unpredictable working time and burnout. The study contributes to the literature by exploring the workfamily conflict and burnout in GNR police officers, which is a profession with tendency to present high levels of stress and with needs for intervention in this area. Finally, limitations, suggestions for future studies and some practical implications are presented.
