This project deals with the management of remote teams in light of social isolation, a phenomenon inherent to telecommuting that requires new forms of communication, collaboration and relationships. Through a literature review and an ethnographic study involving teams from three companies, the present work seeks to identify the factors that foster cohesion and productivity among physically dispersed colleagues, with emphasis on trust, autonomy, leadership style, visibility, recognition and empathy. Key obstacles to the success of virtual teams are also analyzed, with the prevalence of issues such as excessive meetings, cognitive overload in videoconferences, reduced human connection and increased workload. Finally, based on the learnings from the literature and the field, a training plan for leaders and managers is proposed with the aim of providing them with skills and competencies to lead remote teams in a more humanized and effective way.
