O presente projeto final de mestrado visa desenvolver uma reflexão projetual acerca da cidade atual, procurando entender as suas lacunas e a forma como têm sido encaradas.
Tendo a autoestrada A5 como território de intervenção, pretende-se descodificar os diferentes elementos marcantes deste eixo infraestrutural e a sua evolução no contexto de Cascais e da Àrea Metropolitana de Lisboa. Este conjunto de intenções permite não só uma vontade de integração dos elementos urbanos já existente como também a identificação de uma matriz já estabelecida territorialmente.
A proposta à escala urbana traduz-se numa organização espacial da zona situada entre Alcabideche e a Aldeia de Juzo, Cascais, em que, através da geometria definida pelo parcelário, define uma nova lógica de ocupação articulada entre a métrica rústica pré-existente e a sequência serial associada à autoestrada. Nesta organização urbana propõem-se novas ligações pedonais que articulam espaços fragmentados ao longo da A5, bem como um conjunto de novos elementos edificados de grande dimensão, associados à ideia de uma nova centralidade e de uma nova “porta” de entrada de Cascais. Estas megaestruturas procuram reintrepretar este território através de uma visão utópica e exploratória, de modo a transformar a experiência rodoviária numa película cinematográfica.
ABSTRACT: The present final Master Project aims to develop a projectual reflection about the current city, seeking to understand its flaws and the way they have been viewed. With the A5 highway as the intervention territory, it is intended to decode the different striking elements of this infrastructure axis and its evolution in the context of Cascais and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. This set of intentions allows not only a desire to integrate the urban elements that already exist, but also the identification of a pattern that has already been territorially established. The urban scale proposal translates into a spatial organization of the area located between Alcabideche and Aldeia de Juzo, Cascais, in which, through the geometry defined by the parcelary, it defines a new logic of occupation articulated between the pre-existing rustic metric and the serial sequence associated with the highway. In this urban organization, new pedestrian connections are proposed that articulate fragmented spaces along the A5, as well as a set of new largescale built elements, associated with the idea of a new centrality and a new entrance “door” in Cascais. These megastructures seek to reinterpret this territory through a utopian and exploratory vision, in order to transform the road experience into a cinematic film
