Education plays a key role in all societies. It changes and adapts over time and is without doubt a factor of the utmost importance within the social network. This has made it possible for theorists and non-theorists from many different fields of expertise to produce a series of well-grounded reflections based on a full knowledge of the facts gained either by scientific methods or through their own personal experience. This knowledge brings to light the complexity of the social network, in itself an indication of the emerging complexity of Education and of the many factors that act upon the setting up of known and/or other innovative synergies. Naturally, this complexity generates inconsistencies and permanent dichotomies, namely the wide variety of specialized training available to Visual Arts teachers, an evidence of the fragile nature of visual arts rather than an indication of their potential. As a result, this study will make reference to scientifically validated aspects and theories on the importance of Art Education and on the skills, such as creativity, that can be developed. In an attempt to find some answers to the problem, TTCT – Figurative was administered to Primary Education pupils (2nd cycle) taught by a pair of Visual Arts teachers where one is also a professional artist and the other has only pedagogical experience. It was possible to identify some differences and it can safely be said that the pupils taught by Visual Arts teachers who are also professional artists show a higher creative potential. Nevertheless, this case study should be further developed and the levels of creativity of both pupils and teachers should be reported. This study also reflects the need to transfer creativity to schools through specialized teacher training and pedagogical practices, as well as the pressing necessity of bringing up Art Education and the Arts as an opportunity to develop creativity and as an answer to many of the problems that trouble education in general.por
