HIV AIDS seriously affects the Mozambican population. The incidence rates are of the highest in the African continent and in the world. It is urgent to fight and prevent the spreading of this epidemie. Education and in particular the training of teachers fulfils a key role in this fight. The Ministry of Education of Mozambique, conscious of this reality and challenge, has drawn strategies to incorporate the theme of HIVAIDS in its educational programs and teacher’s training plans. In this work the intention is to analyse how some of these strategies are being implemented, besides analysing the method for teaching the contents of the programmes of the curricula subjects on HIV AIDS in the primary school teacher’s training course. In order to meet the problem and aims of the study, a qualitative investigation was developed, following an interpretative methodology of a case study, using questionnaires and interviews semi-structured as data collecting instruments at the Matola Teacher’s Training Institute and applied to seventy-seven trainees and to six trainers. The investigation results allows us to conclude that the conceptual framework that guided the primary school teacher’s training programmes for the themes of HIV AIDS exist and seem to be present in a coherent form. However, its practical application reveals the existence of difficulties and inadequacies to existing conditions. The shortage of time to deal with this matter and the inadequate prior preparation of the trainees act as constraints that need to be reconsidered. The cultural diversity factor of the trainees and trainers must equally be taken into consideration at the time of the necessary permanent evaluation of the implementation of the curricula.
