O presente Trabalho Final de Mestrado aborda as principais atividades realizadas
durante o estágio curricular realizado na Câmara Municipal de Cascais, com especial foco
no potencial contributo dos sistemas de Business Intelligence para as autarquias locais.
Esta temática é relevante dado o cenário desafiante da gestão de dados na Administração
Pública. As autarquias locais não são exceção e a implementação de sistemas de Business
Intelligence para apoiar a tomada de decisões ganha crescente importância e relevância.
O estágio foi realizado na Unidade de Analítica de Dados, parte da Divisão de
Marketing e Inovação. O principal objetivo foi consolidar os conhecimentos adquiridos
no decurso do Mestrado em Gestão de Sistemas de Informação através da conceção de
dashboards em Microsoft Power BI e preparando informação de apoio à decisão.
Neste seguimento, é realizada uma revisão de literatura dos conceitos e tecnologias transversais a esta temática tendo como base as atividades desenvolvidas no estágio.
É descrita a entidade acolhedora bem com as tarefas desempenhadas no decorrer do perí-
odo de estágio e é feita, ainda, uma análise crítica acerca do trabalho realizado. Por último
são deixadas algumas conclusões e apresentadas as limitações sentidas no decorrer do
estágio bem como algumas sugestões de melhoria para o futuro.
This Final Master's Work describes the activities carried out during a curricular internship at Cascais City Council, focusing on the potential contribution of Business Intelligence to local authorities. This is a relevant topic given that the management of public administration is currently quite challenging, as huge volumes of data are generated. Local authorities are no exception and the implementation of Business Intelligence systems to support decision-making has increased exponentially. The curricular internship was carried out in the Data Analytics Unit, part of the Marketing and Innovation Division. The aim was to consolidate the knowledge acquired during the Master's Degree in Information Systems Management by designing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI and preparing decision support information. To this end, a literature review is carried out of the concepts and technologies that cut across this theme, based on the activities carried out during the internship. The host organization is described, as well as the tasks performed throughout the internship and a critical analysis of the work carried out. Finally, some conclusions are drawn and the limitations felt during the experience are presented as well as some suggestions for future improvements.
