dc.description.abstractPrevious studies have shown evidence that STAT3CTAD and p300CH1 may interact in cancer related pathways. In this study, a GFP variant was fused to the N-termini of each protein. CFP was fused to the STAT3CTAD and YFP was fused to p300CH1. In this way, a possible interaction between the two proteins could be detected, using FRET as a screening method. The preliminary titration results demonstrate a FRET signal between the two proteins. However, additional studies would have to be performed in order to attribute the observed FRET signal to a protein-protein interaction. When validated, this assay could be used to test compounds as inhibitors of the proposed interaction.pt_PT
