It is estimated the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) increases annually due to technological changes and changes in people's lifestyle, which lead to greater consumption and disposal of this equipment. From an environmental point of view, they cause pollution of the air, water resources, affect the sanitary conditions of the population and the risk to public health. From an environmental perspective, the material waste causes air and water pollution thereby posing a risk to sanitary conditions and public health. This work aims to identify and analyze the implications for the supply chain of WEEE management entities in Portugal by (or through) evaluating the perception of these companies, who are the main stakeholders in the process. The Sustainable management of the value chain and of the supply chain has become a strategic parameter for WEEE for organizations. This strategy increases the viability of the development of long-term operations, where concepts such as reverse logistics and closed-loop supply chain are applied. Interviews were conducted with companies managing WEEE to understand what perspectives they hold about the constraints, barriers and implications for the value chain existing in the WEEE market. The intensification of the use of technology, the generation, the relationship between the actors, the need for treatment of these wastes were considered, as this is selected, de-characterized and classified into good material for reuse, and those that will be recycled by industrialized companies to be reused either on the same production line or as a raw material. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that, in Portugal, the market for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment is still in a growth phase.
