Prospecções levadas a efeito nos anos 80 do século XX no Concelho de Castro Marim permitiram identificar, através da recolha de abundantes materiais à superfície, um sítio de época romana. Esses materiais, integralmente cerâmicos (terra sigillata, ânforas, cerâmica de paredes fina, lucerna e cerâmica comum), contribuíram para o conhecimento da ocupação rural do território do litoral algarvio, e para discutir a cronologia em que essa ocupação se iniciou.
Archaeological surveys carried out in the 80s of the 20th century in Castro Marim Municipality allowed the identification, through the collection of many materials on the surface, of a Roman site. These materials (terra sigillata, amphorae, Thin-walled pottery, and common ware) can be used to understanding the rural occupation of the Algarve territory, and the chronology in which this occupation began.
